In May 2018, we launched a “workspace for everyone” initiative that delivered just one window where users may go for SSO use of all the applications and files within the Workspace application - including SaaS and no matter location. Everything everybody needs for work, on this page.

Customers loved the only window approach a lot they started to appear to Citrix for expertise and guidance in worker experience. Worker experience, productivity, and also the removal of unnecessary workflows within complex enterprise applications was surface of mind for everybody.

The purchase of Sapho in November 2018 gave us everything we wanted to accomplish our Workspace portfolio and deliver around the promise to transform the way forward for work. Then at Citrix Synergy 2019, we announced Citrix Workspace intelligence, that will come later this season.

An electronic workspace becomes a smart workspace if this moves beyond organizing apps and knowledge to steer and, ultimately, automate work.

To get this done, you've to get away from the mindset of simply delivering applications - still requiring the consumer search and peck for the best menus, screens, and instructions. Extract the appropriate actions from individuals applications, and employ insights you prioritized them and offer these to the worker in a great way so work can be achieved in the best possible way.

With the addition of intelligence to Citrix Workspace and also the Workspace application, only Citrix delivers virtualization, SaaS apps, mobile phone applications, distributed file sync and security as well as an intelligent feed, through just one UI

Experience

Customers regularly visit our Executive Briefings Centers around the world. One subject have a tendency to pops up is worker experience. The brand new Call Package supports GDPR compliance and shares the contact names and make contact with figures directly using the devices, although not along with other apps. You can now see who’s calling!

Email and Slack - A balanced exercise

Now, I’d prefer to share certainly one of my personal favorite Citrix innovations of the season. A lot of companies - including Citrix - now are utilizing Slack. The number of occasions are you currently on the lengthy email thread and considered to yourself, “This conversation would go far better using Slack”? Now, using Secure Mail, users can convert an e-mail thread right into a Slack conversation. Furthermore, a safe and secure Mail user can Slack a note a message from Secure Mail.

Local Host Cache enhances experience by maximizing reliability, resilience from the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service

Local Host Cache is a feature from the on-prem platform since XenApp and XenDesktop 7.12. This capacity enables users to carry on to gain access to their sources when Delivery Controllers or site databases are lower or unavailable. Now, we’ve introduced this selection towards the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service. Whether or not the Cloud Connectors within the Resource Location lose the bond towards the Citrix Cloud control plane, users still can begin a new session and reconnect to disconnected Apps and Desktops sessions. This can be a proof point for that reliability and resiliency in our Cloud offering.

Diplomacy and the foundation of strategic alliances

At Citrix Synergy 2019, we'd the privilege to listen to former U.S. Secretary of Condition Dr. Madeleine Albright discuss leadership, government, world matters, technology, plus much more. There have been a lot of brilliant quotes during her talk, however this one was to me being an alliance leader since it is relevant as to the we all do in Citrix Proper Alliances every single day:

“Diplomacy is individuals to people relations. Determine who's allowing you to solve problems. Develop partnerships, build trust, understand whom you’re coping with.”

People-to-people relations. Working out who's assisting you solve problems. Develop partnerships, build trust, and understand your lover. I’m almost repeating the entire quote - but fundamental essentials foundations associated with a effective proper alliance within our industry. We showcased a number of these alliances at Synergy.

Should you viewed Citrix Chief executive officer David Henshall’s keynote address on First Day, you saw our outstanding progress and momentum and also the impressive list of all of the product and solution deliverables since last year’s Synergy. What was out for me personally in dramatic fashion is the fact that point about this momentum is by using our proper alliance partners. Whether it’s our cloud-networking solutions on Azure, GCP and AWS, or our Workspace application support for Android, Chrome, Home windows, or our Citrix Cloud Workspace appliances with 'cisco' and HPE, partners are supplying the ability behind our ecosystem of preference.

I was proud to follow-up this momentum with a few more great innovations with this proper alliance partners that still drive the safety and versatility.

Driving the future of work at Citrix Synergy: People and technology

It provided the opportunity to talk directly with customers about partnering by using it to intentionally craft engaging worker encounters. I discovered productivity, performance, and also the multigenerational workforce from thought leaders within the HR space. And That I got to talk with press and industry analysts concerning the worker experience imperative - why it’s important and just what it’s really about.

Technology is among several factors that drive an excellent worker experience. Citrix Workspace’s new intelligent abilities, announced at Synergy, can help organizations to streamline tasks and activities and provide employees just one access point towards the apps and knowledge they will use most frequently.

How come this trouble for an HR leader?

Something like Citrix Workspace produces the space that people build relationships and concentrate on activities where they are able to add some most value. It eliminates distractions. Also it truly leverages technology to allow the very best worker experience and also to help companies attract and support the best talent. Having to pay focus on and making thoughtful, proper investments in worker experience isn’t the perfect factor to complete, it drives business results.

Listed here are six things out of this year’s Synergy which i intend to carry beside me when i use my colleagues and our Citrix partners to shape the way forward for work:

Madame Secretary

I was honored to welcome former U.S. Secretary of Condition Dr. Madeleine Albright among our Super Session loudspeakers. I had been struck by her leadership, courage, and diplomacy during occasions of effective historic importance and also the impact she'd on world occasions. Through her words, I confirmed deeper how intricately and globally interconnected we're and just how we have to consider the holistic impact of fixing a perceived problem or creating a change. And we must pursue positive compromise, where opposing parties will find mutual understanding making progress.

Motivating Factors

Motivation may be the X element in the worker productivity and engagement discussion, and so i was excited to listen to from Simon Bray, who shared concepts from Primed to do, a magazine by a couple of his Vega Factor colleagues. Their research demonstrated that why make certain determines how good make certain. Unlocking motives around play (enjoyment in our work), purpose (deriving meaning from your work), and potential (growth through our work) can result in improved worker performance and motivation and, consequently, better outcomes for purchasers.

Treating People as People

Meghan Biro of Talent Culture brought a fascinating discussion around the realities from the next-gen workforce. She emphasized the significance of finding commonalities among generations but staying away from stereotyping while treating individuals as, well, individuals. Relationships matter, and also you can’t possess a brand promise or employer value proposition that does not deliver. Employees want feedback according to respect, purpose, and relationships, and nearly 75 % of next-gen employees say they’ll leave when they don’t feel the work they do has purpose. Finally, greater than 90 % of next-gen talent indicate they’ll come to a decision whether or not to enroll in a company in line with the technology at hand.

Coping with No Barriers

Our second Super Session speaker was Erik Weihenmayer, the very first blind person to summit Mount Everest. His striking account of his physical feats and also the challenges he transformed, in addition to his call to reside a “no barriers” existence, especially thinking about most barriers are self-enforced, resonated beside me. He shared his idea of quitters, campers, and climbers - we decide to prevent before we actually get began (quitters) we achieve an amount of success and choose to remain there (campers) or we challenge ourselves every single day (climbers). The kind of person we prefer to get determines the worth we lead, whether we drive innovation, and just how we all experience existence.

Learning Through Partnerships

I'd the opportunity to join Joe Verderame, our V . P . of Architecture and processes, and listen to from about 40 in our customers about how exactly their workers have work and the way to create partnerships between HR also it. We discovered the significance of recognizing the various expectations from the five generations within the workface today. I was excited to listen to about customers using worker feedback to discover what matters most innovation jams where employees make recommendations for enhancements to streamline we've got the technology they will use every single day and mix-functional “pods” that actually work together to draw in great talent. We discussed the realities of remote work and just how managers and employees can collaborate to make sure groups of remote personnel are effective.

Serving Others

Certainly one of my personal favorite areas of Synergy every year is our try to serve the host community. This season, greater than 600 customers, partners, and Citrites put together 1,500 STEAM kits (which includes an “A” for art), that have been distributed with the U . s . Method of Greater Atlanta to children in underserved local schools. We welcomed 34 students from two local high schools, who took part in the 3rd annual Fight Bots competition. Our volunteers helped all of them with building, coding, testing, and battling their amazing robots. These activities will always be an excellent indication that an essential component from the worker experience is employed in plan to others.

Optimizing app delivery in an internet and multi-cloud world

Enterprises must proactively adjust to reliably deliver services and applications over the internet, whether they’re web-based transactions, SaaS applications, or latency-sensitive video or unified communications applications. That’s based on Kaira Casemore, Research V . P ., Datacenter Systems, at IDC.

We spoken with Casemore lately for “Optimizing Application Delivery within an Internet and Multicloud World,” a brand new IDC Analyst Connection publication backed by Citrix. He distributed to us his ideas on application delivery and also the condition from the internet, the visibility needed across far-flung and disparate systems, data center conditions, how you can design systems to boost application delivery and consumer experience, GSLB like a service, plus much more.

The web is more and more a delivery vehicle

As applications and content continue their steady march to new cloud-based homes, there's an growing reliance on the web for application delivery to users. The web is really a dynamic atmosphere not underneath the control of merely one entity, Casemore states, which in turn causes huge trouble for the enterprise delivering happy to you and customers.

Capture and employ internet condition data from real users to enhance experience

Application performance and consumer experience - and business outcomes - is determined by if the enterprise will find methods to proactively adjust to internet condition changes. As Casemore states, recording internet data from far-flung and disparate systems is really a daunting challenge and potentially involves vast amounts of data points from real users around the world.

Data center insight completes the image

The actual benefit, Casemore states, comes when you are able combine the healthiness of the information center and application components in to the making decisions. Instantly feeding in data from your application delivery controller (ADC) assesses a site’s capability to process a request. Would be the servers up? The number of connections will the site presently have? How busy may be the back finish? This added dimension produces a “complete type of sight” for application delivery, enabling the very best location to be selected for everybody user when it comes to availability, capacity, and gratifaction.

Enterprises need holistic application delivery

Application delivery will include every aspect of your way, in the user towards the application, based on Casemore. As enterprises depend more heavily on the web and still differentiate themselves according to experience, IDC foresees a substantial rise in interest in services that build upon the standard approach of GSLB and produce new amounts of internet visibility necessary to guarantee the best consumer experience, that make an impact to some business.

Citrix collects greater than 15 billion data points each day from over 900M real users across 50,000 ISP systems, using machine learning strategies to collate, process and store this data to produce the biggest consumer experience map from the internet. Citrix Intelligent Traffic Management may use this data to steer visitors to the very best site for everybody user in a given instant over time. Citrix ITM can be obtained today like a cloud service, without a penny to set up or maintain.

A credit card applicatoin delivery and cargo-balancing solution, Citrix ADC enables a higher-quality consumer experience for the web, traditional, and cloud-native applications wherever they’re located. Citrix ADC will come in a variety of form-factors and deployment options, without locking you right into a single cloud.

Citrix solutions for API protection in cloud-native, Kubernetes apps

any organizations today take presctiption an outing to digital transformation. A vital facet of this transition continues to be the mass adoption of APIs and exactly how they are utilised to provide services in API environments.

Because the adoption of APIs (and also the reliance on them) grows, organizations are requiring that APIs will always be:

  1. Available: Available where consumers need them with five nines or better availability
  2. Secure: Supply the right data right consumer, without any data leakage, infiltration, exfiltration, or any other issues
  3. Relevant: Provide the right tier and services information right customer.

Previously, developers might have labored by using itOrSecurities and exchange commission's Ops to instantiate and configure these security policies on load balancers or API gateways. However for cloud-native applications built upon containers and Kubernetes, that old paradigm doesn’t work.

Developers now leverage their CI/CD pipeline to deploy countless occasions each week, frequently without themOrSecOps even knowing. Within this new paradigm, it’s crucial that the configuration for API protection is automated to ensure that developers also itOrSecOps might have mutual awareness and alerting in to the APIs’ security, availability, and access patterns.

Today, Citrix ADC could be deployed being an Ingress device inside a Kubernetes deployment. We're excited to announce that soon customers can leverage that very same Ingress device to provide API protection for microservices-based applications for north-south traffic. This ingress device is definitely an existing Citrix ADC form factor like MPX/VPX or perhaps a new CPX (containerized ADC) deployment.

With easy-to-use custom resource definitions (CRDs) and notations, DevOps can operationalize all of the necessary security needs.

Using the Citrix solution, developers searching to reveal their professional servicesOrAPIs to consumers outdoors the Kubernetes cluster can perform so without having to worry about compliance and security. This permits both SecOps and DevOps to maneuver more rapidly with less friction to satisfy the company needs around liberating data, accelerating release occasions, and getting services to promote more quickly.

Introducing Citrix Managed Desktops on Azure!

Today at Citrix Synergy 2019, we are excited to introduce a new Citrix desktops-as-a-service (DaaS) solution called Citrix Managed Desktops. Citrix Managed Desktops is designed to be the simplest and fastest way to deliver Windows apps and desktops from Azure to any device from anywhere.

This cloud-hosted solution is a turnkey service that enables any organization with any level of IT expertise to quickly deliver Windows-based applications and desktops to their workforce. Architected as a one-stop, pay-as-you-go service, it includes everything you need to securely deliver desktops and applications to any device from the cloud with simplicity.

Coming Soon: Day 1 Support for Windows Virtual Desktop

Citrix Managed Desktops will begin a phased rollout starting in Q2 2019 to qualified U.S. customers as part of an early adopter program, followed by general availability with global release in 2H 2019. The initial solution offering will be based on a Windows Server desktop in anticipation of Day 1 support of the upcoming Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop multi-session Windows 10 experience when it releases.

First-Time Innovations and Packaging Options

Citrix Managed Desktops is unique from our existing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops offerings as well as other desktops-as-a-service solutions. It introduces a lot of technology innovations and provides an easier way to transact with Citrix and our partner community. Here are a few of our “firsts” with Citrix Managed Desktops:

  • Buy Everything from Citrix: When Citrix Managed Desktops is made generally available, it will be the first time you can buy Citrix management services and associated Azure compute needed to deliver your Windows virtual apps and desktops. Customers will also have the option to bring their existing Microsoft licenses such RDS CAL for Windows Server workloads or eligible Windows (for e.g. E3/E5) licenses for Windows 10 workloads. Citrix will make it possible to purchase RDS SALs directly, simplifying the transaction.
  • Monthly or Term Pricing: From a packaging perspective, this will be the first time Citrix is offering the entire virtual apps and desktop solution in a monthly or term-based consumption model. You can purchase the Citrix service and Azure consumption funds in a monthly or term-based model, giving you pricing flexibility to align with your business needs. Estimated monthly cost will vary based on desktop-type and usage, but you can start with a simple Windows instance to support a frontline worker for as little at $30 per user, per month, including Microsoft licensing and Azure compute (based on a 40-hour work week on a term contract).
  • Domain Joined or Non-Domain Joined: On the technology front, this is the first time the virtual desktop can be domain joined or non-domain joined. This is important because it means that the administrator can rapidly provision a desktop to an external user — like a contractor or seasonal worker during a project or a busy season — to ensure that they are accessing resources from a secured desktop. It also gives you the option to join that virtual desktop to your existing domain to address new user demand such as an influx of new users from a merger or acquisition. If you would prefer to integrate the Citrix Managed Desktops solution with your on-premises Active Directory implementation, Citrix has gone the extra mile to radically simplify that integration making it easy to integrate Azure-hosted virtual desktops with your on-premises Active Directory.
  • Multi-Region Support: Customers can easily deploy and manage workloads in multiple regions in the world to ensure the apps and desktops are closer to your end users for optimal performance. At launch, we will support four regions: U.S. East, U.S. West, Western Europe and Australia East. We expect to support additional regions in future.
  • Citrix Provides Desktop Image: This is the first time Citrix is providing a basic Windows desktop image with the Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent pre-installed, making it easy for you to deliver virtual desktops quickly to any user. In addition, Citrix is periodically providing updates to that image to ensure it is easy for every user to access the latest Citrix innovations and Microsoft updates. You will also have the option to bring you own desktop image.
  • Built with Partners in Mind: Citrix is working to include a new, built-in multi-tenant management UI that allows channel partners to build services directly on top of Citrix Managed Desktops, enabling customized services for vertical markets.
  • Coming Soon — SD-WAN Support: Citrix Managed Desktops will soon have integration with SD-WAN technology. The integration will simplify network connectivity from your cloud-hosted desktops to your on-premises resources such as Active Directory and data sources. This integration can also help optimize the remote-access experience for end users to Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and more. Together Citrix Managed Desktops and SD-WAN technology will give both IT and users reliable connectivity that is quick and easy to set up.

It’s About Time to Value

While Citrix provides a broad range of powerful, flexible virtual app and desktop solutions, Citrix Managed Desktop is all about simplicity and speed of delivery.
